ENVS101W

ENVS 101W is a web-based environmental science course designed for General Education.  For specific items covered, please see the syllabus listed under Course Content in WEBCT.  You will need to select the WEB CT course ENVS 101W to complete this course.

This course is self paced and not recommended for the student with poor self discipline traits.

The course will be conducted as a series of PowerPoint lectures will supplementary lecture notes.  These lectures will follow the text book Environmental Science: A Global Concern 7th edition by Cunningham, Cunningham and Saigo (listed in the syllabus).

Additionally, we will use WEB CT for student-student and student-instructor interactions.  I plan to use the discussion board on WEB CT as a tool for discussions, questions and answers. Students are encouraged to communicate with each other.  Please use the following pathway for questions, prior to contacting me directly, so that we can achieve class bonding that accompanies regular courses.  The sequence for Q&A will be first through student-student contact via the discussion board; second, class-instructor discussion (Discussion Board) when guidance is needed; and lastly, real time discussions between either the class or student and instructor (Virtual Office Hours in the Chat Room).  Please use the e-mail function for one on one correspondence if your individual questions were not answered during the general discussion times, or if you need any clarification.

Tests will be posted in a timely fashion on the Test tool of WEB-CT.   Please follow individual test item instructions.  WEB CT also uses randomization of test questions, so you may not receive the same questions with successive exams.

Outside assignments may also be used.  These will be posted in the Homework Folder.

If you have any questions, please refer to my homepage for contacts.
